Mel holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of South Carolina. Before joining Christy Capital, he owned his own real estate investment business for ten years. He has also enjoyed success as a licensed real estate agent.

Mel is a member of Riverland Hills Baptist Church. A talented musician, Mel enjoys singing tenor in the men’s quartet, “4 Heaven’s Sake.” He also performs weekly with the Modern Worship Band, singing and playing the piano.

Mel has been married to Kimberly for 25 plus years. They’ve been blessed with four children, three through the gift of adoption. They have also been foster parents to almost 50 children and currently have two foster children in their home that they hope to adopt soon. Mel enjoys golf and spending time with his family.
